About Coco Chocolatiers
Coco was founded in April 2006 after a mad moment in the office! We are Sue and Holly Newland, a mother and daughter accountancy team who decided to change our lives. We used to sit in our office wearing suits and high heels, we now spend our days in our chocolate kitchen handmaking all our chocolates. Our kitchen is set within our shop – why not come and watch your chocolates being made?
In September 2005 we took time off work to train at the chocolate academy, we then went on to train with Paul A Young, master chocolatier, in London. After practising on all our friends and family we decided that we wanted to produce chocolates using only the best couverture, fresh cream, nuts, fruits and sometimes lots of booze! We found a shop in Marmion Road in the heart of Southsea, husband and dad, Dave, transformed it into a beautiful chocolate shop, we hung up big black chandeliers and opened our doors just before Easter.
The world of chocolate is a fabulous place to be, we have made lots of new friends, go to chocolate festivals and seminars and have great fun inventing new goodies to fill our shelves. Chocolate can be a joy to work with but sometimes a nightmare, so many things influence it. The weather, the temperature and sometimes even our mood! Chocolate is a super food, eat it for good health, chocolate is unique, it is for pleasure, for fun. It should remind you of holidays, Christmas, and feeling happy, Chocolate is a mood elevator. Do you have a dairy allergy, a gluten allergy, are you a vegan? Why should you not enjoy chocolate, we have a range of chocolates handmade just for you.
Because we make all our own chocolates we can offer you so much more, love one of our fillings but prefer milk chocolate to dark? We can make you a special order.
